I will. I plan to be there more often... especially since my task is to build a small gambling table for my burden. [ a chuckle. ] Once I get the materials I may enlist your help, but I would rather ~earn it. [ or win it. ] Play a game with me, and if I win, then you help... if I lose, well, ...you can ask anything you like of me.
Maybe this new store has some stuff. [ snorts. ] What? You don't think you'd look good in that?
If you truly wish to make it even more of a challenge for yourself, I can indulge you. It is the least I can do since you have put yourself at risk for my own burdens before.
And I would definitely not look good in most of these. The patterns are too much of an eyesore, but you might.
[ He grabs a few old man sweaters and dress shirts for himself before holding up this monstrosity for Aventurine's eyes. ]
...you know how much I love to take risks. [ he smirks. ] As for the game, blackjack, a simple best of three later on.
[ he bristles. ] What's that supposed to mean? I have a keen eye for fashion. [ he blinks, taking a step back to behold the shirt sunday holds up for him. ] ...I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not. [ he makes a face, crinkling his nose. ] I'm not wearing that.
And what would have happened if I failed your fashion faux pas exam… would I be cursed to wear nothing but gaudy technicolor animal print for all of eternity? [ he doesn’t seem to mind the hat, so he lets it stay. ] And if I see something I like… I’ll grab it. I’m really here for the company. I have plenty of clothes. [ and it’s not like he can’t shop later. ] But if you insist on shopping together… then perhaps we find something nice to wear for a dinner date. I don’t expect to find something too fancy here, but I can’t say no to something nice and… [ he smirks. ] fast & easy to remove.
You would. It is only appropriate that you live with your poor decisions, and there are some velcro tear-away pants if really want clothes that are efficient for Dr. Ratio to remove.
But the tearing sound of velcro... [ He would have nightmares over it. ] You can also browse the intimate apparel section while I look at shoes. I feel awkward as it is picking out your date clothes.
[ aventurine tries to imagine ratio using tear away pants… and even his brain has a hard time painting a picture. ] I’m not sure stylish pants come in tearaway, but I appreciate the suggestion. I’ll keep it in mind. Maybe, if I’m ever feeling confident, I could trying convincing him to try them… [ but he doubts even he’s good enough at coercion. ]
Don’t worry about it then. I can take care of that later. [ to the shoe section. ] Are you buying any of this for a special occasion, or are you just trying to fill your closet?
…oh. [ his lips pull into a smile. ] I suppose it couldn’t hurt to try them, assuming I can find them in the right color. [ green green green, he’s searching for shades of green. ]
It is a wonder how we all got along shopping for clothes in a grocery store…
[ he peers up from the rack of athletic wear, whistling. ] Not at all. [ he slinks over. ] A bonus to height and sex appeal… not that you need it. How about we find something to go with them?
[ he’s sure sunday prefers suits, but he’s going to look for a stunning dress of some kind. nothing too racy but still sexy enough to make jaws drop. ]
We spent too long with low-quality fabrics, and while these are far from exemplary, they do have an added element of sturdiness so we do not have to continuously wash clothes everyday.
And I do not know if it is possible to give a former Bronze Melodia any amount of sex appeal. Purity and elegance tend to be emphasized in the family heads and those with prominent positions in Penacony.
[ Besides, he's not sure if he'll have anyone to wear anything racy anymore. ]
...mm, I wouldn't be so sure, but perhaps from your perspective it's hard to see it. And there's something to be said about elegance, grace, and purity. [ he offers him a small smile. ]
How about something like... [ he grabs a few different garments from off the racks and arranges them on a bench nearby. ] this? I think it's a good compromise of both.
[ His eyes widen slightly before his wings close around them. ]
...For my sister perhaps. I am not opposed to experimenting with more feminine garments in private, but if you have a partner who prefers men, it may be off-putting to them, especially one who enjoys muscle in the pectoral area.
I doubt it would be off-putting. He likes you for you, right, and you have your own beautiful and uniquely you body type... so anything that accents it is going to be appreciated. But if you're looking for something to show off your chest, then... [ he goes to browse the racks again, grabbing something similar to the outfit on the left. ] this? You don't need to have a pair of fat tits to show them off.
…then maybe I’ll add it to my closet. [ he decides to try it on right there. shame, never heard of her. and sunday’s off shopping for something stuffy anyway. ]
[ aventurine has gotten into the pants by the time sunday returns, his top bare and plainly riddled with scars of all shapes & sizes. ]
It definitely looks like it suits your tastes, but I do think you should push the envelope a little bit more. Maybe not to this degree, [ he motions to the shirt he’s yet to put on, ] but something.
[ Why does Aventurine look good in everything? He does examine his own chosen outfit some more before setting it back on the rack and trying to find something closer to what Aventurine means. Maybe him being too much of a puritan is part of why his love life is so terrible.
He finds something else to wear, though he has to put a corset underneath to give him enough lift before stepping out of the dressing room. ]
[ as soon as sunday enters the dressing room aventurine collects the original outfit he’d been infatuated with. he still needs to fill his closet, so there’s no reason he can’t get that too. as for what he’s wearing when he steps out of the dressing room… it’s really nice. ]
You’ll get used to the chill, but this might be too much. [ he walks over and opens the shirt to reveal the corset. ] I know you said your partner prefers larger chests, but your comfort is important… [ he starts undoing the laces. ] I think this is unnecessary.
You don’t need to be someone you’re not. He likes you for you. And contrary to what you may think… I like you for you too. A occasional bit of spice is nice, to break up the monotony, but you are who and what we like.
[ once he’s finished with the laces he tugs at it, trying to pull it off him. ] Much better.
[ At least he can finally breathe again as he sags, his wings sagging with him. ]
I appreciate the compliment. I simply wanted to try something new, but I doubt it would have had much of an effect either. It is as you said...I simply am who I am.
I believe I have enough here to take back with me, so I will not drag you around any further.
…you’re not dragging me around. I’m spending time with a friend. This isn’t a chore, Sunday.
Did something happen… you’re acting a bit strangely. [ overly concerned about what you are & aren’t. and aventurine is aware he’s not perfect, but he’s been doing his best to be helpful and supportive… and it feels like he’s coming off as neither. ]
No, you are being exceptionally kind. I am acting a bit irrationally, and for that, I apologize. Nothing happened beyond the usual stress that comes with living in this town.
[ He grabs a nice, silk scarf and drapes it around Aventurine's neck, styling it for him. ]
Would you like to go to that gaming place now that I have finished up here?
I am, but it is for my own as well. I would not mind getting better at those games you enjoy and providing a decent challenge for you from time to time.
[ a small but fond smile. ] To the arcade then. [ he opens a portal to it, to make travel that much faster. ] But first a round of Blackjack.
[ he produces a set of cards and shuffles them with flourish, looking around to find a table to set them down and deal their starting hands. ] If I win, then you’ve got to help me with my burden. If you win, then you can ask whatever you like of me.
[ he flips his own cards, ] 7 & 2… [ well he’ll be hitting on his turn, but sunday needs to see his cards first. ] Let’s see your hand.
I know. I want to earn the help. I'm going to hit. [ he flips a king. ] Lucky me~! 19. I'll stay... [ even if he's itching to take another hit. ] You're up.

[ He sets the terrible shirt back on the rack and grabs a trilby with a peacock feather on it to plop on Aventurine's head. ]
Are you certain you do not want to grab something for yourself?

Re: Day 67.
And I am simply filling my closet with more alternatives after having such a limited wardrobe for so long.
[ he grabs a pair of high-heeled boots to try on. ]
Are these too much? I would not mind the extra height on occasion.

Re: Day 67.
You have a nice body Sunday. Flaunt it.
Re: Day 67.
Absolutely not. That looks more like something you would wear rather than me, which is why it belongs in your closet instead of mine.
I do not like being that bare in public.
[ He holds a different outfit up. ]
This is more to my tastes. Elegant without being too provocative.
