I really have no right to complain about anything. Nothing's happened to me.
But I don't need that, either. I'm not used to it, and so I prefer other things than having people listening to me complain when they're willing to spend time with me, anyway.
It would not be complaining but simply an unburdening of whatever is weighing on you. However, if you would prefer a distraction, we could do something aboard the ship that you enjoy.
No one dedicated to the task, but we all find our own ways of coping.
I sometimes play piano or visit my sister where she is slumbering and speak with her. Even if she cannot reply, it is still comforting being around her.
[ Sam shows up not long after. He has a few flowers with him. Not enough to be a traditional oversized bouquet, but enough that one could make a nice little arrangement in a bind. Where he got such flowers is a mystery, though. (not really, upon closer inspection they are handcrafted out of wood. Very pretty!) ]
Yeah actually. Not recently, but I like to take some with me when I travel. Never know when I'm gonna meet someone worthy of them, you know? [ he winks before offering one all galant-like, although he won't make Friday actually have to physically accept it. ] You got your hands full and they're mostly for your sister, but please take at least one for yourself, too, before we leave.
Smells good. Looks like you've been really practicing, Friday.
Oh– [ His eyes widen slightly before his wings close around his cheeks to hide some of the faint coloring there. ] Thank you. I have received many bouquets in the past from fans before but never wooden ones that were so finely and carefully crafted.
[ He slides it into his pocket for now. ]
I feel as though I should make you something in return for the gift, though I am not as skilled in craftwork. Would you be opposed to an original piano composition?
[ oh, that's very cute. ] That sounds lovely, but your piano composition is worth a lot more than a rose, especially to your agency. Would that be okay or would you get in trouble?
Besides ... it's a gift. I appreciate your desire to reciprocate, but I don't give expecting anything in return. So no pressure. That's not to say I won't appreciate whatever you want to offer in turn, but ... I come from a high society family and understand the pressure of etiquette on gifts. I definitely don't want you to feel any of that here between us, yeah?
It would not. I am allowed to do what I want with any music I write and perform in my own time for friends. The agency only owns a modest percentage of what I record and release officially under their label.
[ He motions to Sam to follow as he starts to lead him towards where the bodies of the comatose are slumbering. ]
[ Sam blinks, going to sit down in one of the seats near her beside as Friday works. He seems to debate, like he's hesitating before saying: ] ]
... Oh, of course you would be siblings with AYU. I'm not sure how I didn't immediately realize that just from your looks, you are siblings through and through. I didn't know she was here, though...I don't think I did, anyway. I'm sorry, this must be hard.
It is all right. Not many make the connection right away in spite of our ear wings. Her presence is very magnetic, and her talent in singing and dancing is without compare.
Did you ever get the chance to watch any of her live concerts?
[ tilts his head. ] You're very magnetic, too. It feels a little sad compared to hers from what I remember, but I imagine you've been through a lot protecting her.
That is kind of you to say, and I wish I could have protected her from this ship and the affliction she is now under. [ He takes her hand in his for a moment. ] I can only hear her voice now from all her songs and recordings...Do you have any siblings yourself?
Re: Day 240, morning.
I feel as though I have not seen you in some time,
and I should rectify that.
Re: Day 240, morning.
I've been okay. Just distracted, I guess.
Re: Day 240, morning.

I know a lot has happened as of late.

Re: Day 240, morning.
When you're free, how about we go see your sister together?
Re: Day 240, morning.
I am actually about to visit her now if you would like to meet up?
I will bring some treats.
Re: Day 240, morning.
Re: Day 240, morning.
I will be waiting for you there.
Re: Day 240, morning.
Hey! Sorry if you were waiting long. Ready?
Re: Day 240, morning.
I am, and your bouquet is beautiful. Did you make them yourself?

I do not know if you have formally met yet, but this is Ava. Even if you have not, you must know of her music.
...Ava, this is Sam, a kind friend.

I haven't.

What happened to them if you do not mind me asking?
