and then Lith turned up later after staying with a couple of the folks who died, saying he got really scared and doesn’t want to talk to Sirens anymore
i think he’s still upset but it’s not like…oh no love is over between Sirens and Forge, he just needs some space personally. i said i’d be a buffer so he didn’t have to interact and that seemed to calm him down ok. but it seemed like a good idea to get the full picture
I can shoulder the burden of the blame for the other Sirens for being skeptical about whether or not it was truly him following us. I did not know him well enough to ascertain the truth from speaking to him, having only spoken to him once before, and when I tried to confirm details based on our phone call, he seemed unwilling to answer clearly.
Making a judgment call was difficult without wishing to put our own family in danger, and when I thought I was exercising caution, I was only making the situation worse. I truly apologize.
I had sent him a gift and a handwritten letter through Copper, though I am unsure if she ever delivered them to him. I wanted to give him space yet also make amends. I am uncertain what else to do for now.
hey, don't beat yourself up too bad. it was a messed up situation all around. he didn't want to die or to kill you. you didn't want to die or kill him. I just wanted to make sure nothing, like, exploded, I guess? I'm sorry you guys had to go through that, you were doing the best you could.

It cannot be helped. Seeing someone hurt who was under our care feels like an antithesis to who we are and what we stand for as Sirens. I wish I had made my mind sooner, but regret will lead to nothing but more and more regret.

we didn't get hurt either, and neither did our hostage. we were pretty able to believe it was just all a creepy fakeout, right up until it was over and we saw what happened to other Families at the end. that part sucked real bad, but other than Lith I think we were over the actual performance pretty quickly.
anyway -- I promise I didn't text you to make you feel guiltier, I'm not mad at any of you myself! like I said, just wanted to vibe check real quick. we can leave it at that, and let Lith cool off for now.

Our cabin doors are always open to you, Lithium, and Forge should you need us, and I intend to keep my word on the dance lessons. We may even be able to use it to unlock other features within the ballroom.
